Especially convenient: the ski school and a practice slope are located directly across the street—ideal for a relaxing day of skiing with children. When snow conditions permit, you can even ski right down to the hotel.

Numerous hiking trails start right from the hotel. Particularly popular are the routes toward Harschbichl and the Kitzbüheler Horn, which you can either start on foot directly from the village or take a shortcut by taking the mountain railway. From there, varied hiking trails lead on to alpine pastures, peaks, and scenic trails.
Valley hikes also start right in town, for example toward the Eifersbach Waterfall, the idyllic hermitage, or the Wilder Kaiser. In total, the region offers around 200 km of marked hiking trails of all difficulty levels—from leisurely strolls to challenging mountain hikes. The Okto Hiking Bus also provides convenient transportation to numerous starting points for additional hikes in the region.
The Dumpling Festival is one of Tyrol’s most popular culinary events and takes place every September right in the center of St. Johann—just a short walk from the hotel. Over 26,000 dumplings in 27 different varieties are served by around 20 festival vendors, while music groups create a lively atmosphere. A special highlight: The town center transforms into a giant open-air restaurant, where guests take their seats at the 595-meter-long dumpling table —the longest in the world.
From COOEE alpin Kitzbüheler Alpen in St. Johann in Tirol, you can easily reach the famous Hahnenkamm Race in Kitzbühel. The ÖBB Hahnenkamm Shuttle takes you for free from the St. Johann train station directly to the finish area.
With the St. Johann Guest Card, which you’ll receive at check-in, you can also ride all ÖBB local trains in the region for free—the train ride takes about 10 minutes from St. Johann Station to the stop at the Hahnenkamm.
