Gosau is located in the middle of the Dachstein-Salzkammergut ski region, just a stone’s throw from attractive ski areas, including Dachstein West – directly connected to Gosau – and the Freeride Arena on the Krippenstein near Obertraun. Dachstein West is the largest ski area in Upper Austria and includes the Hornspitz with Brumsiland and Zwieselalm.

142 km of wonderfully groomed slopes invite you to take turns of all kinds in powder snow under blue winter skies – just how you imagine a skiing holiday in Austria! You can also expect rustic mountain huts with culinary specialities and views of the breathtaking mountain panorama of the Dachstein Glacier as well as après-ski partying at its best in the valley of Gosau.

A great attraction for children is the Trocktann sledge run in Bad Goisern – right next to the 1992 World Championships track. The 22-minute ride – also available under floodlights – is an amazing experience, whether by toboggan, bobsleigh – or, like TV presenter Stefan Raab, in a wok! After a 40-minute ascent of 300 metres you’ll reach the toboggan huts, open daily in the winter season.
